| Ed Rege Ed’s major interests in the last 5 years has focused on organizational development with a special interest in supporting people, teams, organizations and partnerships to deliver on their stated missions by facilitating change processes. These include leadership and management coaching and mentoring, strategic planning and facilitation of high stake processes such as those involving multi-stakeholder collaborative programs. Ed is an animal geneticist with a combined 28 years experience in national university research and training, international Agricultural Research and Development, and management of large global programs. Immediately prior to joining PICOTEAM, he was the Director of the global Biotechnology R & D program of the International Livestock Research Institute – ILRI, where his portfolio included R & D in livestock vaccines, diagnostics and genetics. Ed has extensive experience in sub-Saharan Africa, S.E. Asia and South Asia where his experiences has included both collaborative research as well as training of national program scientists in livestock genetics and breeding. He has also worked in collaborative projects with Chinese partners and traveled extensively in the region. Ed’s original training was in agriculture and subsequently specialized in animal sciences before taking a PhD in genetics. He has long-term practical R & D as well as university teaching experience. His long-term experience in research and keen interest and focus on ‘on-the-ground-impact’ enables him to sift through the technology and intellectual ‘verbage’ in ways that guide discourse towards practical possibilities. His mentoring and coaching approaches are strongly guides by practical ways of applying science and innovation to generate social and technical solutions. | |
