Patrick
is a member of PICO Uganda since 2005. He has over the last five years
been extensively involved in activities geared towards strengthening
and improving organisational planning, resource mobilisation and
strategic management.
Patrick
has been involved in organisational management and development since
2004. He has focused the development of strategies for national
institutions such as Universities, sub-regional organisations such as
the Association for Strengthening Agricultural Research in Eastern and
Central Africa (ASARECA), the Biotechnology and Bio-safety Network for
Eastern Africa (BIO-EARN) and the Regional Universities Forum for
Capacity Building in Agriculture (RUFORUM) and at continental level
such as the Forum for Agricultural Research in Africa (FARA). Patrick
has also been involved in supporting institutions to develop resource
mobilisation instruments. These actives have taken him through most of
Sub- Saharan Africa (from West Africa through East and Southern Africa).
The
competence portfolio of Patrick embrace process facilitation that leads
to consensus building, strategic planning and operational alignments;
Developing grant proposals for diverse funding sources; Excellent
writing skills with over 25 scientific journal articles in refereed
journals, authored book chapters in addition to leading research for
development teams.
Patrick
holds a PhD in Plant Breeding and Biotechnology from the Swedish
University of Agricultural Sciences, as well as an MSc in Crop Science
and a BSc in Agriculture from Makerere University, Uganda. He has
undertaken specialized training in process facilitation, personal
mastery and soft skills, resource mobilisation and project management.
